BARBADOS SURFING ASSOCIATION Jan. 27, 2009

The Barbados Surfing Association just laid out its schedule for 2009 and elected a new committee, which is setting out to really promote the sport and start breeding some talent for competition around the Caribbean and beyond. They aim to develop programs to start teaching the next generation judging, coaching, and even shaping boards. (Seriously, barely a shaper in the whole country.) The Committee "wrapping" things up. The calendar includes one regular event each in February, March, August, September, October and November, with the High School Championships in April, the National Championship in May, the ISA World Surfing Games trials in February, the November Pro, and an on-call Big Wave event. They've also gotten permits to include multiple venues, for when the surf doesn't cooperate. Good call
